Ryan W. Smith graduated from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering and a minor in Geology. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Lou-Ark Section). While completing his undergraduate degree Mr. Smith worked for ConocoPhillips in the Houston, TX and Farmington, NM offices. Other internships include Halliburton and Delta -T geophysical.
Mr. Smith joined Coutret and Associates Inc. in 2010 and worked as a reservoir engineer. His focuses included mineral appraisals, well log, volumetric, pressure build up and material balance analysis. Mr. Smith has qualified and testified as an expert witness at hearings before the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission.
His courageous battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma came to an end on June 26, 2014, he had a work ethic like no other and even in the hardest of times he was dedicated to his profession. He will be deeply missed by his Coutret and Associates colleagues and all who were lucky enough to know him.
